The godly generations and the previous preparation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe pious of the first generations waited an hour before you pray...\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This phrase describes a <strong>practice ascetic and meditative<\/strong>:<br>before you begin the prayer, the <em>chasidim rishonim<\/em> (devout men of the first generations) <strong>they waited an hour<\/strong> in silence in order to achieve the <em>kavan\u00e1<\/em>the concentration and internal connection with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meaning of waiting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <strong>Gemara in Berachot 32b<\/strong>these men:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Expected <strong>an hour before<\/strong> pray,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prayed <strong>an hour<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And <strong>they reflected another hour after<\/strong>,<br>totalling <strong>nine hours a day<\/strong> of spiritual dedication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal was to <strong>shed the ego<\/strong>, appease the worldly thoughts and \u201cto prepare the heart\u201d.<br>The <em>Ritva<\/em> and the <em>Maharal<\/em> interpret this preparation as a <strong>meditation upon<\/strong>, which seeks to \u201cplacing the mind in the Kingdom of Heaven\u201d before you speak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Dimension theological: \u201cbefore your Father in Heaven\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mishnah uses a key expression:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cto direct his heart toward his Father in Heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This language marks the <strong>double aspect<\/strong> of God in prayer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u201cKing\u201d<\/strong> (din, justice, authority); and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cFather\u201d<\/strong> (rachamim, compassion and closeness).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The prayer perfect combination of both: <strong>awe<\/strong> and <strong>filial love<\/strong>.<br>The soul of the person praying should not be before a judge for a cold, but to a Parent who listens with love, even though it remains the absolute respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Symbolic interpretation and kabbalistic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Kabbalah<\/strong> seen in this Mishnah a process of <em>devekut<\/em> (accession mystical):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cStand\u201d is equivalent to <strong>be in the world of Atzilut<\/strong>, the level of divine emanation where there is no separation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cSeriousness and submission\u201d represent the state of <em>bitul ha-yesh<\/em> (nullification of the ego).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The \u201chour of preparation\u201d is associated with the <strong>sephiroth lower<\/strong> (To netzaj, Hod, Yesod), the channels that purify the soul before the union with the Divine Presence (<em>Shechinah<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The snake, in this plane, it represents the <strong>instinct of evil (yetzer hara)<\/strong> who tries to distract or divert the intention of the person praying.<br>Thus, the Mishnah teaches that the <strong>true prayer is a spiritual ascent<\/strong> that required to overcome the distractions of the body and the material world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Teaching ethics and spiritual<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This Mishnah summarizes the <strong>spirit of the jewish prayer<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is not a form of words, but a <strong>meeting indoor<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is not a speech at the sky, but <strong>to stand before Him<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The physical posture and mental health is part of the spiritual act: <strong>the body reflects the soul<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The final teaching is that man <strong>don't dominate their environment during the prayer<\/strong>:<br>you must recognize that all power, even the king or the natural fear, <strong>submits to the divine sovereignty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9.
