This line was articulated by his disciple R. <strong>Chaim of Volozhin<\/strong> in <em>Nefesh hachaim<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe time is the life of man; the one who wasted destroys its own existence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6) Controversy with the jasidismo<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>It was the <strong>face intellectual opposition<\/strong> (mitnagdim) to the nascent jasidismo from <strong>1772<\/strong> until his death. Supported <strong>cherem<\/strong> (excommunication) <strong>in 1772 and 1781<\/strong>measures included <strong>banning and burning of books<\/strong> in some communities; refused to receive <strong>Shneur Zalman of Liad\u00ed<\/strong> (Chabad) and other emissaries. Motivations: defense <strong>order halachic-communal<\/strong>, wary <strong>referrals messianic<\/strong> and <strong>rereadings mystical<\/strong> with potential antinomian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7) the Disciples and schools<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Your <strong>student most influential<\/strong>, <strong>R.
