Contain <strong>more than fifty treaties<\/strong> (52, according to the reckoning usual), in <strong>coptic (dialect sah\u00eddico)<\/strong>, which are translations of <strong>original Greek<\/strong> compounds between the <strong>II\u2013III centuries<\/strong>; the codices were copied to the <strong>century IV<\/strong>. Meet christian texts of orientation gnostic, parts of the hermetic tradition, and even a fragment of <strong>Plato, Republic 588a\u2013589b)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discovery, origin and conservation<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Finding (1945):<\/strong> local farmers found a vessel to be sealed with the codices near the cliff <strong>Jabal al-\u1e6carif<\/strong>. Classical narration picked it up James M. Robinson; the historicity of details of the story is <strong>discussed<\/strong> and presents contradictions between versions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hypothesis of origin:<\/strong> often linked to a <strong>monastery pacomiano<\/strong> area (Chenoboskion) and it has been conjectured that were buried after the <strong>Letter Festal<\/strong> of Athanasius (367) alleging books \u201cnon-canonical\u201d.
