What are \u201cdocuments of the Nag Hammadi\u201d<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Set of 13 codices of parchment, bound in leather<\/strong> (12 complete, and fragments of a 13th), discovered in 1945 near the town of Nag Hammadi in upper Egypt. Contain more than fifty treaties<\/strong> (52, according to the reckoning usual), in coptic (dialect sah\u00eddico)<\/strong>, which are translations of original Greek<\/strong> compounds between the II\u2013III centuries<\/strong>; the codices were copied to the century IV<\/strong>.
